Getting Started

How does Sale Advisor work?

We come to you, catalog everything you want to sell, photograph each item, and handle the selling. When an item sells, our moving team delivers it to the buyer and we send you your money. There is no cost to you.

How do I get started?

Text us at (847)-444-9657 or submit an inquiry through our website. We will schedule an in-home consultation where we walk through your home and catalog everything you want to sell. From there, we handle the rest.

Is there any cost?

No. Sale Advisor never charges you anything. Zero cost, always. We only earn a percentage of the sale price when your items actually sell. If nothing sells, you owe us nothing.

What areas do you serve?

We currently serve the greater Chicago metropolitan area. We are planning to expand nationally in the near future, starting with cities where our delivery team already operates.

How do I contact you?

Items & Pricing

What items do you accept?

We accept furniture, electronics, appliances, antiques, collectibles, home decor, sporting goods, tools, musical instruments, and more. If it has resale value, we can probably sell it. During your in-home walkthrough, we will let you know which items are a good fit.

How do you determine pricing?

We research current market prices to find the optimal listing price for each item. Our goal is to maximize your payout while keeping items priced to sell. You can always set a minimum price, just let us know!

What if my items don't sell?

If an item does not sell, you owe us nothing. We may recommend a price reduction to move it faster, but the final call is always yours. Items that remain unsold stay in your possession unless you ask us to remove them.

Do you accept clothing or small personal items?

We focus on higher-value items like furniture, electronics, and appliances because the percentage-based model works best for those. We generally do not accept clothing, books, or low-value personal items, but we are happy to discuss your specific situation during the walkthrough.

What's the minimum value for an item?

There is no hard minimum, but items generally need to be worth enough that our percentage covers the cost of listing and delivery. As a rule of thumb, items worth $50 or more are a great fit. We will always be honest about what makes sense during your walkthrough.

The Process

How long does it take to sell my items?

It depends on the item. Popular furniture and electronics often sell within the first week. Niche or higher-priced items may take a few weeks. We actively manage every listing and adjust pricing if needed to keep things moving.

Where do you list my items?

We list across multiple major online platforms. Every item gets professional photos and a detailed description optimized for each, giving your items maximum exposure.

How do you handle delivery to buyers?

Delivery is handled by our own professional moving team. When an item sells, we coordinate pickup from your home and delivery directly to the buyer. No shipping costs, no meeting strangers, no porch pirates.

Can I set a minimum price for my items?

Yes. If you have a number you are not willing to go below, just let us know. We will never sell an item for less than your minimum without your approval. Our pricing recommendations are based on real market data, so we will always give you an honest assessment.

What happens during the in-home walkthrough?

We walk through your home together and you show us everything you want to sell. We photograph each item, take notes on condition and dimensions, and give you a realistic idea of what things are worth. The whole process usually takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on how many items you have.

Payment

When do I get paid?

You get paid after the item is sold and delivered to the buyer. We process payouts promptly so you are not waiting around. For larger collections, you will receive payments as individual items sell rather than waiting for everything to move.

How do I receive payment?

We offer payment via direct deposit, Venmo, Zelle, or check. You choose whichever method works best for you. We will confirm your preferred payment method during the walkthrough.

What percentage do you take?

Our commission varies by item based on factors like value, size, and how much delivery effort is involved. We are always transparent about the split before we list anything. You will never be surprised by hidden fees because there are none.

Comparison

How is this different from an estate sale?

Estate sales happen over one or two days, attract bargain hunters, and typically sell items for far below market value. Sale Advisor sells each item individually at competitive prices, reaching serious buyers and maximizing what you earn.

How is this different from selling things online myself?

When you sell online yourself, you deal with lowballers, no-shows, strangers coming to you, and hauling heavy items. Sale Advisor handles all of that for you. We manage every conversation, negotiate with buyers, and deliver with our own moving team. You do nothing except get paid.

Can you help with downsizing?

Absolutely. Downsizing is one of the most common reasons people call us. Whether you are moving to a smaller home, helping aging parents, or just clearing out years of accumulated items, we make the process painless. We catalog everything, sell what has value, and coordinate with you every step of the way.
