Sale Advisor (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a full-service consignment sales company based in Chicago, Illinois. We operate the website saleadvisor.com (the “Site”) and communicate with clients via SMS, email, and online forms. We come to you, catalog items you want to sell, list them for sale online, coordinate delivery through our partner Lakeshore Hauling LLC, sell them, and pay you the proceeds minus our commission.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding your personal data. By using our Site or services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you contact us, submit a form, or use our services, we may collect:
- Contact information: name, phone number, and email address
- Home address: for scheduling in-home consultations, item pickup, and delivery coordination
- Item details: photographs, descriptions, condition notes, and pricing preferences for items you consign with us

- Usage data: pages visited, time spent on pages, click patterns, and navigation paths
- Referral data: the website, advertisement, or search term that brought you to our Site

We use the information we collect to:
- Provide our services: schedule in-home consultations, catalog and photograph your items, create online listings, coordinate delivery, process sales, and issue payouts
- Communicate with you: send service-related messages about scheduling, item status updates, sale confirmations, and payout notifications via SMS and email
- Coordinate delivery: share necessary information (addresses, item details, scheduling) with our delivery partner Lakeshore Hauling LLC
- Create online listings: publish item photographs, descriptions, and pricing on online channels to facilitate sales
- Improve our services: analyze Site usage, ad performance, and client feedback to improve our operations and user experience
- Advertising and marketing: measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, retarget visitors who have shown interest in our services, and reach new potential clients
- Security and fraud prevention: protect against unauthorized access, detect suspicious activity, enforce rate limits, and maintain the integrity of our systems
- Legal compliance: fulfill legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and protect our rights
4. SMS and Email Communications
4.1 SMS Messaging
When you text us or submit a form with your phone number, you consent to receive service-related SMS messages from Sale Advisor at (872) 312-SALE. These messages relate to scheduling, item status updates, sale confirmations, and payout notifications. They are not marketing messages.
Opt out: You can opt out at any time by texting STOP to (872) 312-SALE. After opting out, you will not receive further SMS messages from us unless you reinitiate contact.
Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on your service activity. Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier and plan.
SMS data protection: Your mobile phone number, SMS message content, and opt-in status will never be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliate companies for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS data is transmitted securely through our messaging provider (Twilio) and stored in our encrypted database.
4.2 Email Communications
We may send you transactional emails related to your consignment account, including payout confirmations, service updates, and responses to your inquiries. Transactional emails are delivered through our email service provider (Resend). You may opt out of non-essential email communications by contacting us directly.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
5.1 Service Partners
- Lakeshore Hauling LLC: We share delivery-related information (pickup and delivery addresses, item descriptions, scheduling details) with our delivery partner to coordinate item pickup and delivery to buyers.
- Online sales channels: When we list your items for sale, item photographs, descriptions, condition information, and pricing are published on online channels. Your personal contact information is not included in listings.
5.2 Technology and Service Providers
We use the following third-party services to operate our business. Each provider processes data in accordance with their own privacy policies:
- Twilio: SMS and MMS messaging delivery. Processes phone numbers and message content. Twilio Privacy Policy
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram): Advertising, audience measurement, and conversion tracking via the Meta Pixel and Conversions API. We also use Facebook Lead Forms and Instagram for marketing. Meta Privacy Policy
- TikTok: Advertising and conversion tracking via the TikTok Pixel and Events API (server-side). We also use TikTok Instant Forms for lead generation. TikTok Privacy Policy
- Google: Advertising (Google Ads, Google Lead Form Extensions), analytics (Google Analytics), and business profile management (Google Business Profile). We also use Google OAuth for internal administrative authentication. Google Privacy Policy

- Vercel: Website hosting and performance analytics. Vercel Privacy Policy
- Supabase: Secure cloud database hosting (PostgreSQL). Your data is stored in encrypted databases managed by Supabase. Supabase Privacy Policy
- Upstash: Redis-based rate limiting and caching to protect our systems from abuse. Processes IP addresses and request metadata. Upstash Privacy Policy
5.3 Legal and Safety
We may disclose your information if required by law, in response to a valid legal process (such as a subpoena or court order), to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sale Advisor, our clients, or the public, or to detect and prevent fraud or security threats.
5.4 Business Transfers
If Sale Advisor is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change and any choices you may have regarding your information.
6. Artificial Intelligence
Sale Advisor uses artificial intelligence tools to support internal business operations, including ad creative generation, content creation, and operational efficiency. These tools include services from Anthropic (Claude), ElevenLabs, Suno, and Google. AI tools are used by our team internally and do not directly process or make decisions about your personal data. Your personal information is not shared with AI service providers for training purposes.
7. Cookies, Tracking Pixels, and Similar Technologies
7.1 What We Use
Our Site uses the following tracking technologies:
- Meta Pixel: Tracks website visits, page views, and conversion events (such as form submissions) to measure ad effectiveness and enable retargeting on Facebook and Instagram.
- TikTok Pixel and Events API: Tracks website visits and conversion events via both browser-side pixel and server-side Events API to measure TikTok ad performance and enable retargeting.
- Google Analytics: Collects anonymized usage data about how visitors interact with our Site, including pages visited, session duration, and traffic sources.
- Google Ads Conversion Tracking: Measures actions taken on our Site after clicking a Google ad.
- Vercel Analytics: Collects anonymized performance and usage data to help us optimize Site speed and reliability.
- Essential cookies: Required for basic Site functionality, security, and session management.
7.2 What Data These Technologies Collect
Tracking pixels and cookies may collect your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, actions taken on our Site (such as form submissions and button clicks), and referral source. This data may be associated with your profile on the respective advertising platform if you are logged in.
7.3 How to Opt Out
- Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings menu.
- Google Analytics: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Meta: Adjust your ad preferences in your Facebook Ad Settings.
- TikTok: Adjust your ad preferences in your TikTok account settings under “Ads personalization.”
- Industry opt-out: Visit aboutads.info/choices or networkadvertising.org/choices to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies.
Please note that opting out of tracking may not prevent you from seeing our ads. It will prevent us from measuring and personalizing those ads based on your activity.
8. Data Security
We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement industry-standard measures to protect it, including:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmitted to and from our Site
- Encrypted database storage hosted on secure cloud infrastructure (Supabase with PostgreSQL)
- Access controls limited to authorized team members only
- Rate limiting and abuse prevention (via Upstash Redis) to protect against automated attacks
- Webhook signature validation for all inbound third-party integrations
- Secure authentication for administrative access (Google OAuth restricted to authorized accounts)
- Regular security reviews of our systems and processes
While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to promptly addressing any security incidents.
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal information as follows:
- Active consignment clients: For the duration of our service relationship and for a reasonable period afterward to handle any follow-up matters, disputes, or accounting needs.
- Lead and inquiry data: For up to 24 months after your last interaction, unless you request earlier deletion.
- SMS and email communications: Retained as part of your service record for the duration of our relationship and for up to 12 months after the last transaction.
- Listing content: Item photos and descriptions may remain on third-party platforms after a sale is completed, as those platforms maintain their own data retention policies.
- Analytics and tracking data: Retained in accordance with each analytics provider’s data retention settings (typically 14 to 26 months).
- Financial records: Retained as required by applicable tax and accounting laws.
If you request deletion of your data, we will remove or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.

- Opt out of tracking: Use the opt-out methods described in Section 7.3 above.

11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to know: You may request details about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, the purposes for collection, and the third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to delete: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing: We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with advertising platforms (Meta, TikTok, Google) for targeted advertising purposes, which may constitute “sharing” under the CPRA. You may opt out of this sharing using the methods in Section 7.3.
- Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.
- Right to correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information: We only use sensitive personal information (such as your home address) as necessary to provide our services to you.

12. Illinois Privacy Rights
As an Illinois-based company, we are committed to complying with applicable Illinois privacy laws. We do not collect biometric data. If future services involve biometric information, we will provide separate notice and obtain consent as required by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).
13. Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
14. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is currently no industry standard for how to respond to DNT signals. Our Site does not currently respond to DNT signals, but you can use the opt-out methods described in Section 7.3 to manage your tracking preferences.
15. Third-Party Links
Our Site may contain links to third-party websites and social media profiles. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing personal information to them.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements.
